Most Current Program: ACR tracks Pope Benedict XVI in the Holy Land. Friars who've been there and a Peace Corps volunteer in Lebanon give background on where he'll visit. Listen to program #09-20 (May 11, 2009) (Help) #09-20 (May 11, 2009) Highlights from this episode of American Catholic Radio include: Saint of the Day John Paul II was the globe-trotting pope who visited the Holy Land and indeed much of the world during his papacy. His cause for sainthood was begun shortly following his death, after one of the longest papacies in modern times. His writings, travels and his personal suffering endeared him to Catholics and non-Catholics alike.
Living Faith Robyn White went to work after college for the Peace Corps, serving in Jordan for 27 months, teaching English to first through fourth graders. She also met her future husband in Lebanon and gained friends whom she considers her extended family and with whom she has visited several times.
Ask a Franciscan Father Greg Friedman answers questions: Is it necessary to attend RCIA sessions in person to become Catholic? What does the Church teach regarding infant circumcision? Would a confirmed Anglican converting to Catholicism be confirmed again?

Portrait of Paul Various Portraits of Paul
In observance of the Year of St. Paul, Father Norm Langenbrunner suggests three different places we can look for the details of Paul's life—two of them from the Bible, and one that's a second-century forgery! Exploring Our Faith Franciscan Father Jeremy Harrington, former publisher of St. Anthony Messenger Press, serves as "commissary"—a Franciscan term for director—of the American center in Washington, D.C. That center promotes the work of Franciscans in the Holy Land. For more than 700 years, the Franciscans have cared for the sacred places revered for their connection to Jesus and his earliest followers. Father Jeremy gives us some background to the Holy Father's upcoming visit to the Middle East.
