He's also associate director of the MacLean Center for Medical Ethics, and practices medicine one-half day a week at a clinic for the underserved in the South Side of Chicago, staffed by University of Chicago faculty. Doctor Sulmasy recently received a White House appointment, to the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues.
